Victoria Kiff combines figuration and abstraction to create richly sensitive images of such depth that they transcend time and permeate spiritual emotion. Connecting the human body to the sea and land through colour, line and instinct, her images are incarnations of a world far beyond our busy, aggressive, digital and noisy lives.
Haunting, real, fragile. Rich in texture, diverse in execution and medium. Kiff uses oil, wax, pastels and works on salvaged wood and paper to grow images that seem to come from somewhere that we are removed from, yet yearn for.
Her figures radiate a sense of loss but at the same time make us feel connected, they etch themselves inside us and stay there. Hers are exceptional pieces that will endure as they capture an inexplicable but understood universal truth.
